Peeing problems?

Do you have urinary problems? For example, you may experience frequent urination, small bouts of urination, pain or burning during urination, or smelly urine. If you have any complaints, you can hand in your morning urine (the first urine of the day) at the counter. This will allow us to check for a urinary tract infection (a bladder infection).
You can pick up a jar and form at the counter. You can also use a jar from home, for example a herb jar or a pill jar. Fill in the details of your symptoms on the back of the form.
Please note! Please hand in your urine before 10.30 am, so that we have time to check your urine. If you cannot bring your urine to the practice within two hours, please store it in the refrigerator until then.
What happens after you pass urine?
There are three possibilities:
1) Your urine is clean. You are then advised to drink plenty of water and contact the practice again if your symptoms persist.
2) A bladder infection has been demonstrated. We then usually prescribe antibiotics.
3) There are slight abnormalities, but we do not yet know if it is a cystitis. Then we do further tests at the practice to see if there is a bladder infection. We will have the results 24 hours later. Sometimes the urine is sent to the laboratory, the urine culture, this will be deducted from your own risk. You are asked to always inform yourself about the result of the urine test. You can do this via Mijngezondheid.net, the MedGemak app or by telephone.
If, despite antibiotics, your symptoms increase while you are waiting for the results or if the results of the urine test are not abnormal, please contact your doctor's practice again for further consultation.
